Lets’ see: Tuscany, Chianti, Montalcino, Rome and Venice..what else when thinking of Italy. From all I see these are the most requested, but tell me: is it because they are the best known or really because you like them?
I often get honeymoon queries where….more than a honeymoon looks like a “tour de force”, 5 cities in 5 days . You don’t even get to see the place and you leave for the next. I would call it just a travel honeymoon to all those touristy spots with:
Americans , English, Irish with their travel guides and ipod
Japanese with their cameras
Germans and Dutch with back pack and trekking shoes
Maybe I am romantic or just totally nonsense but when I went on my honeymoon I tried to do that once in life trip ! as I loved horses I went a week in a working ranch in Wyoming Usa, I do not even want to describe the face the policeman had in Philadelphia when he asked me: “why are you going to Wyoming? Are you joking? and I replied proudly “NO”, but with an embarrassed voice.
Nature, beauty..and other than horses not much to do outside your cottage ;-)
Then travelling for a couple weeks from santa fe to LA: some culture and fun . and then again a week to relax in wonderful virgin islands…..
This is my honeymoon !!!! oh my !!! I still remember every minute and every emotion I had.
This is what a honeymoon needs to be: Memorable !
If coming over here in Italy, no working ranch but we have our carebean: Sardinia .
White beach and an incredible way of building villas. Stone carved and low.
If you love the rocks and cliffs overlooking the sea: portofino, 5 terre and amalfi
If you love nature: chianti & crete senesi
If you love food: all over !
Arts : there are many sorts: medieval towns, renaissance cities, contemporary town shows.
Just try to visualize your main theme and try not to concentrate too much is too little time, and I am sure your result will be just amazing!
