Cocktails and Italy are not exactly the perfect blend …but think about it: Italy is the home of many cocktails and liqueurs that have become famous worldwide like martini e rossi, aperol , cinzano and many more.
Sparkling cocktails has made the Italian Aperitivo a real Star : Rossini, Bellini, Tiziano,Mimosa and authentic italian cocktails known worldwide as : Negroni , Americano & Spritz.
Pre-dinner Cocktails between sparkling & style-
The real essence of Italian cocktails was imported from the US as the italian produced bases was good enough to drink it on its own, so …no reason to mix it …unitl….. . Mix cocktails came from the US during the world war – and landed in Italy – inspired by this new way of drinking italians decided to mix what they had and here is the story –
The “Americano “cocktail

Count Camillo Negroni loved his Americano in the 1920’s – until coming back from a trip to London decided he loved Gin as well – so: why not adding Gin to the Americano – it blended just perfectly and here it is born: the Americano count negroni’s style, today called just the “ Negroni”
The difference between the two? A spash of London dry gin!

Americano recepe:
prepare in the tumbler glass –chill and add
Campari – 1/3 –
Sweet Martini Rosso – 1/3 –
Soda – 1/3
• Decorate with a slice of orange /lemon

Gin – 1/3

Add a twist to it and make it wrong for summer nights freshness :
Negroni Sbagliato – the “wrong negroni “– SUMMER NIGHTS ARRIVED AND IN Milan –in the 60’s we need a cocktail that is easier to drink and suitable for both pre dinner and after dinner.
Take out the Gin and add Brut champagne –

Venice & the Spritz evolution – from the Austrians the early 1900’s Happy hour for Venetians –
Getting out of work in the land of white wines, the workers to chill out from those warm summer days likes something easy to drink, frizzy and fresh. The selz came out and what better occasion – add a spash of selz to the frizzy white wine and chill. Sprizz as the Austrian say- from here the name – today an IBA cockatil.
The recepe: a rock glass or a tulip, ice and mix in the glass.
3 parts prosecco
2 parts aperol
A splash of soda
A slice of orange Combine it and make it Italian:
An appetizer to go well with an italian cocktail – La bruschetta – get your senses run wild – and follow your inspiration – a Bruschetta can be done with anything you wish as long as salty –
the base : home bread best cut into slices –
roast until it gets nice and crunchy-
add: your favorites – a few samples :
• Tomatoes + basil +salt+ extra virgin olive oil
• Sliced raw veggies + spray balsamic vinegar
• As lice of ham + 1 slice of pecorino cheese (even bets if you get it back on the oven for a bit)
• Tuscan crostini made with chicken liver
• Pecorino cheese +Truffle oil
• Sausage + soft cheese like stracchino ( then all back in the oven)
• Pecorino cheese + porcini mushrooms (to be previously cooked in olive oil and nipitella herb)
• Do not mistake it for the Fettunta – which is just roasted bread and extra virgin olive oil and a rub f raw Garlic (if you do not need to kiss anyone) – we usually eat this in November when the new olives crushing takes place .
Use it all in your next event – perfect at home and out.
Set it up rustic or chic –it just depends on your mood and style.
